On this day in 1943, @LennyBernsteinOfficial made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 25 as a last-minute substitute for an ailing Bruno Walter. With just a couple hours’ notice, he conducted the @New York Philharmonic without a rehearsal, and the story of his remarkable performance appeared on the front page of The New York Times the next day.  Travel back to what it was like to be at Carnegie Hall that afternoon, and how Bernstein’s brother Burton, remembers the legendary event.
